I'm a professor in the Dept. of Biol. Science at Auburn University in Alabama. My job involves conducting research aimed at deducing basic principals of nature and teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. You can read more about my research program and lab group at my professional web page.
My main hobbies are birding, bird photography, and fishing. Along with science, these are the main topics about which I'll be blogging. I also am involved in the search for Ivory-billed Woodpeckers and I'll have occasional posts about that, but I subsume ivorybill hunting under birding.
